Refrigerant R134a Properties

Thermodynamic properties of the refrigerant R-134a, also called 1,1,1,2-tetrafluoroethane, R-134a, Freon 134a, Forane 134a, Genetron 134a, Florasol 134a, Suva 134a or HFC-134a and norflurane (DCI). It is a haloalkane refrigerant with similar thermodynamic properties to R-12 (dichlorodifluoromethane), but with negligible ozone depletion potential and slightly lower global warming potential (1430, compared to the GWP of R-12 from 10 900).[2] It has the formula CH2FCF3 and a boiling point of -26.3 °C (-15.34 °F) at atmospheric pressure. It is a non-flammable gas used primarily as a "high temperature" refrigerant for domestic refrigeration and automotive air conditioners.
